The legendary city of Cuzco – up in the Peruvian Andes – famous for its strong indigenous culture was the source of inspiration of my trip to this area. I was there for a week taking pictures of daily life in this beautiful city and some of the outlying villages. During the time in the Sacred Valley I felt of having stepped back into a past century. The Sacred Valley is a captivating place and I had the opportunity to visit villages such as Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, Urubamba, Maras, Taray, Huilloc. I walked around the corners of these palpitating rural areas photographing the flow of life unfolding before my eyes in the small pueblos full of mystery and magic. My intention was to show a sense of the place and of its people.
